Morecambe under 13 reds secured their place in the cup final after a deserved 2-0 semi final win against Mysercough whites.. Morecambe started the game really well and took a 5th minute lead. The ball was laid back to Darniah who took a touch and from at least 25 yards out unleashed a right footed thunderbolt into the top corner. Moments later a lovely move and flick by Lola put Italia in to score but unfortunately it was ruled out for offside. 20 mins on the clock and Mysercough put their number 11 though on goal who seemed certain to score but Amber had other ideas and saved smartly. Just before half time it could’ve been 2-0. Willow’s run and cross from the right found Elize but the ball wouldn’t sit for her and her shot was saved by the keeper. The second half began with more pressure from Morecambe and Willows near post shot was well saved by the Myerscough keeper. Darniah, Iris and Millie were solid in defence, Rosie and Keira were brought on to add some fresh legs to the midfield and with Amber at the top of her game, they restricted Mysercough to the odd half chance. With 5 minutes left Morecambe wrapped the game up. Erin’s powerful run into box and cross was handballed and a penalty was awarded. Despite her miss the other week Lola showed some bottle to step up again and this time she gave the keeper no chance. Well done girls.
